The questions we get on nearly every call.
If yours is not here, email contact@qmatrix.services and we will answer it — and probably add it to this page.
Working together
How long does a website take?+
A landing page is one to two weeks. A full business site is three to five weeks. A Shopify store is four to six. The slowest part is almost always waiting on photos and content from your side, so the sooner you get us those, the sooner it launches.
What do you need from me?+
Your logo, any photos you want used, and an hour on a call to talk through what the business does. We write the copy ourselves and send it to you for approval. If you have brand guidelines we will follow them.
How do I get a change made after launch?+
Text us. Call if you would rather, or email if it needs attachments. Tell us what you want in plain words — "put the new price list up", "we are closed the week of the 4th", "swap the photo on the about page" — and we make the change. Most are done the same business day. You do not log in anywhere and you do not fill in a ticket form.
Is there a limit on how many changes I can ask for?+
Not on ordinary ones. Hours, prices, photos, staff, text edits, seasonal notices — send as many as you like. If a request is really a new project, like adding an online store or ten new pages, we will say so and quote it before doing anything.
Money
Is it really one price with no extras?+
For everything in your plan, yes. Hosting, the domain, security, backups and every ordinary change are all covered by the monthly figure. The only things billed separately are your Google Ads budget, which you pay Google directly, platform fees like Shopify, and genuinely new projects such as adding an online store. We quote those before starting.
What is the setup fee?+
$999 if you stay month to month, or nothing if you commit to 24 months. It is a one-time charge covering the build, not an extra monthly cost, and your plan price is identical either way. Most people take the 24-month term because paying nothing up front is easier.
How does billing work?+
Monthly by card or ACH, same date each month. First payment when the site goes live, not when you sign. If you take the setup fee option it is due before we start the build.
What if I want to cancel?+
Month to month cancels with 30 days notice. On a 24-month term you settle the unpaid part of the $999 setup and leave. Either way we hand over the domain, the site files and every account, and we will talk to whoever takes it on.
Ownership
Do I own the site?+
Yes. The site, the domain, the content and the photos are yours, and that is written into the agreement. We hold the day-to-day accounts because running them is our job, not yours. If you ever leave, we transfer everything into your name and help you move. Nothing is held hostage.
What if I want to edit it myself?+
You can, and some clients do. We will set you up with access and show you around. But it is not the default, because most owners we work with do not want another login and another system to remember. Sending us a text is faster than doing it yourself, and it is included.
Does that mean I am locked in?+
No. Care plans are monthly and you can cancel any time. On the way out we hand over the domain, the hosting, the site files and every account, and we will talk to whoever takes over. We would rather you stayed because it is easy than because leaving is hard.
Technical
Will I lose my Google rankings when the new site goes live?+
Not if the redirects are done properly, which is a standard part of every rebuild we do. Every old URL points at its new equivalent. Rankings usually settle within two to three weeks, and in most cases improve because the new site is faster.
Which platform will you put me on?+
Whichever fits, and honestly it matters less to you than it used to, because you are not the one using it. Squarespace keeps running costs low. Shopify if you are selling products. A custom build if you need something the platforms cannot do. We will tell you in the proposal and explain why.
Can you fix or take over an existing site?+
Often, yes. Send us the URL and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth fixing or whether a rebuild costs less than the repairs. Sometimes the answer is that your site is fine and you need SEO instead.
What happens if something breaks?+
Thirty days after launch, anything broken is fixed free. After that, care plan clients get it handled as part of the plan. Everyone else can email us and we will quote the fix, usually same day.
Still have a question?
Email or call and you will get a straight answer, whether or not it leads to work for us.
